Mount Gilboa is a new brand of golden rum. A rum is produced by a triple distillation in traditional discontinuous copper pot still. Produced from molasses fermented and aged in oak barrels used to ex-bourbon American Mount Gay Rum Refinery, active since the early eighteenth century.
Mount Gilboa is currently the only rum commercialized by this company, but the long tradition of the distillery provides an excellent foundation for the future development of other liquors.
To be clear, the structure called the Mount Gay refinery in the northern parish of Saint Lucia, is actually where the stills and barrels are aging. The bottling plant in which is called the Mount Gay distillery, and is located south of the parish of St. Michael near Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados.
They feel scents of tropical fruit, oak, toasted nuts, vanilla and leather.
